There is a new record holder atop the OSU women’s soccer career goals list.

Grace Yochum.

The senior midfielder scored two goals in Thursday night’s win against Stephen F. Austin to become the program’s leader with 36 goals.

With the goals, Yochum surpassed former Cowgirls Yolanda Odenyo and Jolene Schweitzer at 35 goals.

Yochum optioned to use her fifth year of eligibility rather than pursue a professional career.

“I couldn't imagine going somewhere else or just moving on and I talked to a lot of older girls that have in fact moved on and every time I asked them, they said you're gonna miss this,” she said.

In the shortened 2020 season, Yochum scored a career-high 12 goals that included three game winning penalty kicks. In a pivotal match against Iowa State, Yochum converted a penalty kick in the 86th minute to win 2-1.

“I just took a deep breath, and I knew if I placed it and put some power on it, that nobody could stop that,” Yochum said after that match.

Her confidence and leadership spread to her teammates.

“She’s got that emotion that she just loves to play and compete,” Carmichael said. “I think that’s infectious, and I think that rubs off on all the other players.”

A three-time All-Big 12 member and seven-time Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, Yochum provides an athletic threat in the goal box.

"She's as good a finisher as we've had here,” coach Colin Carmichael said. “She can do it all.”
