Sweet 16 rematch
Oklahoma State and Texas A&M have a long history, dating back to Texas A&M’s time in the Big 12.
The historical match up favors the Aggies by a whopping 16-1-4 record, the most recent meeting coming in last year's Sweet 16, where the Cowgirls lost to the Aggies 4-3. With an explosive scorer in Grace Yochum approaching the top of the OSU all-time scoring list, the Cowgirls looks to pay the Aggies back for the crushing defeat in last year's tournament.
Offense vs defense
The Aggies have shown themselves to be an offensive juggernaut, scoring 13 goals through five games. The Cowgirls have taken a different approach to winning games. Boasting the same 3-2 record, OSU has only scored eight goals this season. The Cowgirls will hope to continue winning matchups on the defensive side instead of the offensive side.
Can OSU beat a ranked opponent?
So far this season the Cowgirls have played two opponents that are listed in Top Drawers top 25 rankings, Pittsburgh and Brown, losing to both. The question now becomes whether OSU deserves a spot amongst the nation's elite, and they will have an opportunity to answer that question against the Aggies, who are ranked 15th in the most recent poll.
