John Paul Richardson scores his first touchdown against Texas Tech.

Freshman wide receiver John Paul Richardson had a breakout game Saturday, catching six passes and scoring the receiving corps’ lone touchdown.

Richardson had been gaining momentum in recent weeks and got an increased workload tonight with receiver Brennan Presley limited.

Richardson made the most of the opportunity, scoring at an opportune time and putting the Cowboys up two scores going into half.

With less than a minute to go in the half the Oklahoma State offense was on the Texas Tech 14-yard line. Richarson broke free with a double move to the outside and Sanders found him alone in the end zone.

The Cowboys defeated Texas Tech 23-0, and have clinched a spot in the Big 12 Championship game.
