OSU football takes safety precautions for fans

  • Updated

The Oklahoma State's senior day ceremony held before the Oklahoma State vs. OU football game on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, at Boone Pickens Stadium.

As the Big 12 green-lights the football season, Boone Pickens Stadium will have a different look in 2020.

While there was heavy speculation that there would be no fans at sporting events, it seems Oklahoma State is going to.

The stadium will take the proper measurements to ensure fan safety from inside the stadium to even outside the stadium.

The stadium will abide by the rules of OSU and the city of Stillwater to wear a face-covering in public.

As for inside the stadium, hand sanitizing stations will be active throughout the entire stadium for fans to keep clean. For concessions, plexiglass will be used for the concession stands around the stadium. The cool zone area on the west side of the end zone will be closed to encourage as much social distancing as possible. Additional spacing will be in the stadium as well to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Tailgating will be prohibited completely on the campus of OSU.

For parking, fans will be encouraged to download their tickets and parking passes using their phone and through their account manager.
