OSU baseball: Ventura joins coaching staff

Former Oklahoma State baseball player and Major League Baseball manager Robin Ventura has joined the Cowboys' staff as a student assistant planning to finish his degree at OSU. 

Ventura was a three-time All-American at OSU from 1986-88 and is the Cowboys' all-time leader in hits (329) and runs (300). He is also second in doubles (71), home runs (68), total bases (608), RBIs (302) and slugging percentage (.792).

He spent 16 seasons in the MLB playing for the Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Ventura comes to Stillwater with big league coaching experience. He was the White Sox manager from 2012-16 and led the team to 375 wins.
