Cowgirls take on Wright State Aug. 29th at home.

Sam Hutchens, Adam Engel, Calif Poncy and Ben Hutchens break down OSU's 1-0 victory over Wright State on Sunday night.

The No. 24 Oklahoma State Cowgirls (3-1) defeated the Wright State Raiders (1-1-1) 1-0 Sunday night at Neal Patterson Stadium.

Here are a few notes from the match.

Absent again

Two-time All-American Kim Rodriguez watched her third straight match from the sidelines with an apparent right foot injury. Forwards Gabriella Coleman and Olyvia Dowell did the same with unspecified and unapparent injuries. Coach Colin Carmichael said Dowell could return to training Tuesday.

“She’s still hurting. She was probably 50-60% percent at OU,” Carmichael said. “She wanted to try. I think she got 20 minutes in the first half and 15 in the second and was like, ‘I can’t.”

Mask on

Jessika Seward, Wright State’s goalie, sported a Rip Hamilton-esque face guard covering her nose. Defender Hannah Webb said she had never seen something like that in a match.

Yochum’s quest for 36

After scoring in the 10th minute, Grace Yochum is six goals away from the program’s all-time scoring record. Yolanda Odenyo and Jolene Schweitzer currently share the title with 35 apiece.

“It’s a big deal and obviously I couldn’t have done it without my teammates setting me up and putting me in positions to score goals,” Yochum said.
