On Monday, OSU coach Jacie Hoyt added Talby Justus to her staff, with Justus serving as the Cowgirls' director of recruiting.

On Monday Cowgirl head coach Jacie Hoyt announced the hiring of Talby Justus.

Justus will take the role of director of recruiting for the Cowgirls.

"I am thrilled to have Coach Justus on board," Hoyt said. "He is one of those guys that lights up a room. He will help strengthen and cultivate many recruiting ties, particularly in the state of Oklahoma, which is extremely important to us."

Basketball in Oklahoma is familiar to Justus, who was the assistant coach of the Tulsa Hurricane’s womens basketball team. Before that, Justus served as the head coach at Pawhuska Hugh School in 2020-21. He also spent seven seasons on the UT Arlington staff from 2013-2020.

Justus is one of many changes to the Cowgirls staff following the hiring of Jacie Hoyt in March.

Here is a look at the changes so far to the Cowgirl staff.

Assistant coach – Taelor Karr

While it isn’t a change from last season, it is worth noting that Karr remains an assistant coach for the Cowgirls going into next season. Karr spent the 2021-22 season as an assistant coach for the Cowgirls. Prior to that, Karr spent five seasons as an assistant coach at Santa Clara.

Assistant coach – Jack Easley

Easley is no new face to the Cowgirl basketball program. He spent the last 10 years as the director of player development. It was announced by Hoyt on April 1 that Easley was elevated to assistant coach.

Associate head coach - Jhasmin Player

Player comes to the Cowgirls staff after spending last season as a member of the SMU coaching staff where she helped coach the Mustangs to a WNIT berth. Player has also spent time as the assistant coach of the Jayhawks from 2019-21 and a member of the Loyola Marymount staff in the 2018-19 season.
