A new week means new rankings.

Five Oklahoma State wrestlers jumped spots in InterMat’s weekly Division I rankings announced Tuesday morning.

Trevor Mastrogiovanni, OSU’s sophomore 125-pounder, achieved a career-high ranking of No. 6 after an 8-3 win over Little Rock’s Jayden Carson. Until last week, when ranked No. 9, Mastrogiovanni had never earned a ranking better than No. 12.

He is one of five Cowboys with a projected All-American ranking — a top eight finish at the NCAA Tournament.

Cowboy freshman Carter Young leaped two spots to No. 18 in 141 after a 14-4 major decision over Little Rock’s Conner Ward last Sunday. Young hasn’t lost since Nov. 20, his collegiate debut.

Kaden Gfeller enters the upcoming road trip to West Virginia as the No. 14 149-pound wrestler. Throughout the season, OSU coach John Smith has referred to 149 as one of the deeper classes in the country.

In the next three weights, Wyatt Sheets, Travis Wittlake and Dustin Plott remained idle in the rankings.

At 184, Dakota Geer’s two straight tech fall wins propelled him into the top 10.

AJ Ferrari, OSU’s start 197 pounder, owns the No. 1 spot. The defending national champion has occupied the top spot this entire season.

Heavyweight Luke Surber improved a spot to No. 30 with a 6-2 record.

As a team, the Cowboys ranked No. 4 in the NWCA Coaches Poll for the fourth week of the season.
