COVID protocols affecting their in-state rival will put the Oklahoma State Cowgirl basketball team back in action earlier than anticipated.

OSU will now play TCU on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Stillwater.

The rematch between the Cowgirls and Horned Frogs was originally slated to take place on Feb. 3, but COVID issues arising with other Big 12 schools led to the abrupt scheduling change.

This game will essentially take the place of the originally scheduled game between TCU and Oklahoma on Jan 9. The meeting between the Sooners and Horned Frogs was called off after COVID precautions reduced Oklahoma’s roster of available players under the minimum Big 12 threshold.

OSU played TCU just two days ago in Fort Worth. The Cowgirls won that game 78-53.
