Rina Tatematsu hits the ball on to the green at Day 1 of the Cowgirl Classic at Karsten Creek on October 22, 2020 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Oklahoma State women’s golf team finished in third place of the ICON Invitational hosted by Houston with another individual champion.

Freshman Rina Tatematsu brought home her first individual win of her Cowgirl career and gives the Cowgirls back-to-back individual winners. Tatematsu shot 14-under-par in the event and used a 6-under final round to secure a three-stroke win. Tatematsu’s score did not count toward the Cowgirls overall team score because she competed as an individual.

The Cowgirls as a team competed with Maja Stark, Lianna Bailey, Maddison Hinson-Tolchard, Han-Hsuan Yu and Isabella Fierro. After leading in round one the Cowgirls stayed inside the top three the rest of the way. Finishing in solo third, behind two top-5 teams, with a score of 10-under and capturing the third top three finish of the spring season in as many events.

Baylor won the event at 24-under with a huge second and third round. Baylor, dating back to the fall season, has played in five events and won all five of them.

The Cowgirls have also had a golfer in the top three individually in each event this spring.

Fierro participated in her first event of the spring after missing the first two events. She recorded another top-10 finish for her career shooting 6-under in the tournament.

The Cowgirls will be back in action March 8 at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational.

The Cowgirls lineup finished:

Maja Stark: 3-under, T-12

Lianna Bailey: 3-over, T-32

Maddison Hinson-Tolchard: 5-over, T-40

Han-Hsuan Yu: Even, T-19

Isabella Fierro: 6-under, 8
