Cowgirl golf schedule headlined by event in Stillwater

For the first time since the 2018 NCAA championship, Karsten Creek will host a collegiate event this year.

The Cowgirls are slated for nine regular season events with four in the fall and five in the spring.

After a solid first season at the helm, coach Greg Robertson looks to continue to build the program back up to prominence.

The Cowgirls will begin their season with a two-day event from Sept. 27-28 in Norman, Oklahoma in the Schooner Fall Classic. The Cowgirls have won in both of their previous trips to the tournament.

The team will then travel to Austin, Texas, to compete in the Betsy Rawls Classic hosted by Big 12 foe Texas from Oct. 10-11. The Cowgirls finished third last season in the event behind two top-10 teams. The Cowgirls were led by Isabella Fierro, who won the event and set the 54-hole record in Cowgirl golf history.

The Oklahoma State women’s golf team will host the Cowgirl Classic Oct. 22-23 for the team’s third tournament of the season.

The Cowgirls will head back south to San Marcos, Texas, to round out the fall campaign. Host Texas State is coached by former Cowboy golf great and former assistant Par Nilsson. The event is Nov. 1-2.

The Cowgirls then turn their attention to the spring slate that begins with a three-day event from Feb. 7-9 in Sarasota, Florida, at the LTWF Heroes Tournament. The event is hosted by Purdue and will be played at the Founders Club in Sarasota.

The Cowgirls will then take a week off before travelling to The Woodlands, Texas to compete in the ICON Invitational hosted by Houston. The event will take place Feb. 22 and 23 at the Woodlands Golf Club.

On March 8-9 the Cowgirls will travel to Tucson, Arizona, to compete in the Arizona Wildcat Invitational at Sewailo Golf Club. This will be the Cowgirls’ first appearance in this event since 2013 when they finished 13th place.

The Cowgirls then go to John’s Island, South Carolina, for the Briar’s Creek Invitational on March 15-16. The event is hosted by the College of Charleston.

The Cowgirls are set to round out their regular season tournaments at The Bruzzy tournament hosted by North Texas. The event will be held in Argyle, Texas, at Lantana Golf Club on March 29-30. This will be the first time the Cowgirls will compete in the event.

The Big 12 Championship is April 18-20 at Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands.
