Oklahoma State’s cross-country team competed in the Midwest Regional on Friday morning. Both the men’s and women’s team qualified for the NCAA Championships.
The Cowgirls finished second behind Missouri. Missouri’s Karissa Schweizer won the race inn 19 minutes and 54.4 seconds. Kaela Edwards was OSU’s highest finisher with a sixth-place finish in 20:23. Freshman Michelle Magnani took 13th place and All-American Aurora Dybedokken finished 14th. Molly Sughroue and Savannah Camacho rounded out scoring for the Cowgirls. Sughroue took 25th with a time of 20:48.7 and Camacho’s run was good for 31st in a time of 21:03.8.
The Cowboys won the men’s Midwest Regional. Tulsa’s Luke Traynor won the race in 30:18.5. OSU’s Josh Thompson finished runner-up with a time of 30:18.8. Hassan Abdi came in fourth place and his time was 30:23.5. Sylvester Barus, Christian Liddell and Anthoney Armstrong closed out OSU’s top five. Barus completed the race in 30:42.7, which was good for 15th place. Liddell finished in 30:47.9 for 20th place. Armstrong finished in 25th with a time of 30:51.4.
OSU Cross-Country now looks ahead to the NCAA Championships on Nov. 19 in Terra Haute, Indiana.
