The Oklahoma State men’s golf team will open up its spring tournament schedule in Kona, Hawaii, at the Amer Ari Intercollegiate on Feb. 6-8. The tournament will take place at Waikoloa Kings’ Course.
The Cowboys have won the Amer Ari each of the last two seasons, and the 2019 tournament by 10 strokes. OSU coach Alan Bratton was the individual winner of the tournament in 1993.
The tournament field will be challenging for the No. 54 ranked Cowboys. There are six teams in the field ranked inside of the top-25.
The Cowboys will also see two familiar foes in Hawaii with No. 25 Texas and No. 2 Texas Tech competing. The Cowboys are the sixth-ranked Big 12 team.
The Cowboys travelled with six players; the five starters and one individual competitor. The starters will be Austin Eckroat, Brian Stark, Aman Gupta, Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen and Ferdinand Muller. Freshman Dillon Stewart also travelled with the team and will compete as an individual.
The Cowboys come off a tough fall schedule after losing two key players following last season. The Cowboys will look to young talent to fill the void left by Viktor Hovland and Matthew Wolff.
