A cornerback, a linebacker and a quarterback bolstered the Oklahoma State football team’s 2020 class when they signed their National Letters of Intent on Wednesday.

Jabbar Muhammad, Lamont Bishop and Ethan Bullock officially joined the class on National Signing Day, raising the number of student-athletes in the group to 21.

In a teleconference, coach Mike Gundy talked about the three newest signees.

One Cowboy cornerback from DeSoto is leaving, but another is arriving. Muhammad’s high school is the alma mater of former Cowboy cornerback AJ Green, who is is preparing for the NFL Scouting Combine. Green is also Muhammad's cousin.

Muhammad had offers from schools that included Texas Tech, North Texas, Tulsa and Oregon State. He committed to the Cowboys in April 2018.

Gundy said he expects Muhammad to gain 10-15 pounds during his first year at OSU.

“Whether he can get on the field and compete next year, I don’t think anybody can predict that,” Gundy said. “But he has really good hits. He can run, he can compete, comes from a high school program that’s used to a lot of success and winning.”

Lamont Bishop, linebacker

Iowa Central Community College (from Country Club Hills, Illinois)

6 feet 4 inches, 225 pounds

Bishop, a linebacker, played in five games this past season but missed the rest because he tore his right ACL. Through those five games, he logged 39 tackles, one sack, one interception and two pass breakups.

Despite the injury, Gundy said he anticipates that Bishop will be healthy when the Cowboys need him. Bishop could fill the spot of backup linebacker Kevin Henry, who is transferring to Tulane.

“With his rehab and recovery, when he gets here, our medical team will take over,” Gundy said. “But at that time, he should be up and running at full speed in June.”

Ethan Bullock, quarterback

6 feet 4 inches, 215 pounds

City College of San Francisco (from Orlando, Florida)

Although the Cowboys won’t have Dru Brown for the 2020 season, Bullock can add depth to the quarterback position.

Bullock started his college career at South Dakota State and transferred to City College of San Francisco. During the past season, he threw for 1,468 yards and 15 touchdowns for the Rams.

“They speak very highly of him,” Gundy said. “They feel like he’s just kind of scratched the surface in how much better he can get, and we feel like he’s a good addition to our program.”
