Baseball was back…then it wasn’t…now it is.

The Cowboys will now open up their 2021 season at Wichita State University. It will be a two-game series with games on Sunday and Monday.

Oklahoma State’s original season opening series at Sam Houston State that was scheduled for this weekend was canceled due to weather conditions in Texas.

Weather related conditions have also pushed back the Cowboys’ home opener one day. Instead of a two-game series in Stillwater against Little Rock beginning on Tuesday, there will simply be one game played on Wednesday.

Wichita State had the weekend open after its series against Oklahoma University scheduled to be played in Round Rock, Texas, was also cancelled because of weather.

Oklahoma State said it was looking for other options after its opener was cancelled. Once again, the Cowboys have demonstrated they are willing to schedule solid nonconference opponents, as WSU is a traditional baseball power.
