Clay granted eligibility but is out for the year

Oklahoma State defensive tackle Cameron Murray lines up on the line of scrimmage during the Oklahoma State vs. Oregon State football game on Friday, August 30, 2019, at Reser Stadium in Corvallis, Oregon.

On the same day that Colin Clay was granted eligibility from the NCAA to play at Oklahoma State, he announced he had torn his ACL.

Clay, a sophomore from Putnam City, Oklahoma, transferred to OSU after a year at Arkansas. He decided to transfer after former Arkansas coach Chad Morris was fired.

Clay played in 11 of 12 games for the Razorbacks a year ago. He recorded 17 tackles in his first season.

Clay was set to provide depth to a veteran defensive line and see considerable time on the field.

Clay will miss the whole 2020 season with the ACL injury.

“Man, this year has been a battle for me,” Clay said in a tweet.
