Oklahoma State’s fall athletes will be back on campus soon.

On Friday, the Big 12 approved a plan to allow its athletes to take part in voluntary workouts starting in mid-June. This plan will allow football players to return to campus for athletic activities June 15, with other fall sports such as soccer and cross country returning on July 1.

“This phased approach is intended to permit gradual adoption of best practices for mitigation of COVID-19 as well as ensuring a safe environment and appropriately prepared facilities,” a statement from the Big 12 read. “Until these dates, the Conference’s activities policy that was scheduled to sunset May 31 remains in effect for all Big 12 student-athletes.”

While no definitive decision has been made on whether fans will be allowed in the stands or not this fall, OSU coach Mike Gundy was still enthusiastic about this news on Twitter-- even calling on fans to buy their tickets now.

“See you Sept. 3rd,” Gundy said in a tweet. “Better buy your season tickets!”
