Two transfers in two days.

Caleb Asberry, a three-time All-Sun Belt guard from Texas State, announced his graduate transfer to Oklahoma State via Twitter Tuesday afternoon.

Asberry is the third incoming transfer for Cowboy coach Mike Boynton. Asberry joins former High Point guard John-Michael Wright and Louisiana-Monroe forward Russell Harrison. Harrison, a fellow Sun Belt star, announced his transfer a day ago.

What Asberry’s transfer means for OSU

After five Cowboys transferred before March, Boynton sought replacements.

Multiple patterns emerge. Shooting. Experience. He added a shifty guard in Wright before adding forward depth with Harrison. Identical to his new teammates, Asberry is a double-digit scorer with deep range. He recorded a 38.4% 3-point percentage.

Asberry automatically becomes the most experienced Cowboy guard. After spending a year at JUCO Ranger College, he started 53 Bobcats games in three seasons. This past season, he made 81% of his 48 free throw attempts. He brings efficiency to a team that lacked in accuracy. The Cowboys ranked seventh in Big 12 field goal percentage with 43%.
