Hassan Abdi made his Oklahoma State debut Saturday at the Penn State Nationals.
He was honored as co-runner of the week in the Big 12 on Tuesday.
Abdi ran the PSU course in 25:01. He earned runner-up honors. Abdi finished behind only MJ Erb of Ole Miss, and Cowboy teammate Josh Thompson finished in third place. The two-three punch willed the Cowboys to victory.
OSU’s 47 points barely edged the 49-point performance of Ole Miss.
The Cowboys are No. 9 nationally in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National’s Coaches Poll, and the team is ranked first in the Midwest.
The next race for OSU is the Big 12 Cross Country Championships on Oct. 29 in Lubbock, Texas.
