There were more tortillas on the field than points for Texas Tech on Saturday as the Oklahoma State Cowboys shutout the Red Raiders 23-0.
Here are the three stars of the game.
OSU backup running back was called into the game early due to starter Jaylen Warren being shaken up, who would return and exit again. Richardson didn’t disappoint in his role as he had 104 total yards of offense for the Cowboys. Richardson has now led the Cowboys in rushing three of the last four games.
Some struggles hit the OSU offense so the Cowboys called to the Australian punter Tom Hutton. With seven punts, he had an average of 46 yards per punt along with two punts landing inside the 20-yard line. The junior helped flip the field and allowed the dominant Cowboy defense to stop the Red Raider offense in Texas Tech territory multiple times.
There were many options on the defensive side for OSU, but defensive lineman Tyler Lacy had a key forced fumble that deflated the Texas Tech offense and ended in three points for the Cowboys. He finished with four total tackles, two solo and one and a 1.5 tackles for loss.
