The Oklahoma government coronavirus database reported that there are 28 active COVID-19 cases in Stillwater as of Thursday.

These new numbers bring the city's total cases to 418 with one death and 390 recoveries.

While Stillwater's numbers are slightly improving, the state of Oklahoma continues to see a rise in new cases. On Thursday, the health department reported 628 new cases in the state, bringing the total confirmed positive cases to 23,441.

Oklahoma state officials are encouraging Oklahomans to wash their hands, stay away from sick individuals and avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

The virus is primarily spread from person-to-person with symptoms usually appearing two to 14 days after exposure. The most common symptoms of the coronavirus are fever, cough, and shortness of breath.
