Some buildings on OSU's campus are running on backup generators.

The lights flickered as students studied in Edmon Low Library.

Some of Oklahoma State’s campus is out of power. Power outages usually kick on backup generators, but some of the generators have not been in use for a longer period of time.

In Life Science East, the fire alarm went off but there was no fire. Once the generator spurred on, the dust caused smoke triggering the alarm.

Stillwater Fire Department, Campus Police and Oklahoma State Facilities Management responded to the alarm. In addition to some of the campus being out of power, the fire station was also out of power.

The cause of the outage is unclear.
