On Sep. 8, the Oklahoma State Department of Health’s COVID-19 dashboard reported 523 active cases in Payne County, with 456 cases in Stillwater.

No additional deaths were reported in Payne County, so the death toll remains at five. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Stillwater’s official death count totals three.

At the state level, the Health Department reported 9,930 active cases today, which represents a decrease from yesterday. One additional death was reported, bringing the total to 854 people statewide.

The university COVID-19 Dashboard reported 103 university tested cases of COVID-19 as well as 127 self-reported cases. The dashboard also reported that there are currently 293 active cases on campus. 51 people are reported to be in quarantine housing, which represents an increase from last week’s report of 13 people.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health  recommends self-quarantining if you have come into contact with an infected person or if you have been within six feet of an infected person for more than 15 minutes.
