COVID-19 Update, Sept. 17

On Sep. 17, Oklahoma’s State Department of Health’s COVID-19 dashboard reported 418 active cases in Payne county, with 366 coming from Stillwater. No additional deaths were reported across the county.

These new numbers represent another decrease in both Payne county and Stillwater from yesterday. 

The dashboard also reported a decrease in active cases in Oklahoma for a new total of 10,274. Six additional deaths were reported across the state. 

From Thursday Sep. 10 to Thursday Sep. 17, the active cases in Stillwater fell from 421 to 366. There was a slight increase to a peak of 450 late last week, followed by a decrease early this week to the present case total. 

Over the same time period, the number of active cases on OSU campus decreased from 

293 to 229 and the number of people in quarantine housing fell from 51 to 34. 

The Oklahoma State Department of Health recommends self-quarantining if you have come into contact with an infected person or if you have been within six feet of an infected person for more than 15 minutes.
