An Oklahoma State student was killed and another injured after the speeding truck they were traveling in Saturday morning rolled while driving on a gravel road, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol accident report.

Passenger Savannah Marie Piatt, 18 of Phoenix, died Saturday morning on the scene of the accident.

Driver Daniel Luke Morgan, 20 of Joshua, Texas, was transported to OU Medical Center but is currently listed in stable condition.

Morgan was reportedly intoxicated at the time of the crash, records show. Stillwater police officer Jeremy Rager said that Morgan was texting directions to friends at the time the Ford F-250 veered off the road.

Reports indicate the accident occurred about 3 a.m. heading northbound on CR 175, north of Lake McMurtry in Noble county.

Savannah Piatt, a freshman, was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority and an animal science major.

Daniel Morgan is a member of Kappa Alpha Order and a chemical engineering major.

Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity sent out a press release Sunday announcing the death of its member.

“The loss of a member is felt throughout all of our chapters and among members across North America,” the press release read.

This report will be updated as The O'Colly is able to obtain more information.
