College Fantasy Football Week 12: Waiver Wire

Oklahoma State's Dillon Stoner scores the first touchdown of the Oklahoma State vs. TCU football game on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, at Boone Pickens Stadium.

There are a lot of great late season players to grab, allow me to sort through the coal and find the diamonds in the rough.

Tanner Morgan, Minnesota, Quarterback

Owned in 5% of leagues

Tanner Morgan put on a clinic last weekend against Penn State, throwing 18-for-20 for 339 yards and three passing touchdowns. For any lucky fantasy owner who had Morgan last weekend, he grabbed them 25.56 points against one of the best defenses in the country. This weekend Morgan plays against Iowa, another great pass defense. The Hawkeyes have allowed 177.6 passing yards per game this season, as well as nine passing touchdowns. I still expect Morgan to perform well after having a near perfect day against the Nittany Lions.

Carter Stanley, Kansas, Quarterback

Owned in 5% of leagues

Carter Stanley did not have a good time last weekend, posting negative points for fantasy owners. I still expect Stanley to bounce back as this was the worst game he has had since Kansas’ loss to Coastal Carolina. This weekend however, he plays against an Oklahoma State defense has allowed 275.6 passing yards per game. The Cowboys have also allowed 17 passing touchdowns this year. I expect Stanley to have a few touchdowns against a vulnerable Cowboy defense.

Dillon Stoner, Oklahoma State, Wide Receiver

Owned in 37 % of leagues

With the loss of leading receiver Tylan Wallace, Oklahoma State has to turn to their other wide receivers. Enter Dillon Stoner, who had three receptions for 93 yards and two touchdowns against TCU. This weekend the Cowboys play a Kansas team that has allowed 15 passing touchdowns on the year. The Jayhawks have also given up 237.9 passing yards per game. I expect big things out of Stoner this weekend.

Deshaunte Jones, Iowa State, Wide Receiver

Owned in 10 % of leagues

Deshaunte Jones is another great wide receiver out of the Big 12, who has put up respectable numbers against some of the best defenses in the conference. While being held to 3.8 points against Oklahoma, this weekend Jones plays against one of the worst defenses in the country in Texas. The Longhorns have allowed 299.6 passing yards per game and 22 passing touchdowns this year. I expect Jones to rebound from last weekends performance against the Sooners.

Master Teague III, Ohio State, Running Back

Owned in 18 % of leagues

With one of the best names in college football, Master Teague III, has been able to play clean up for Ohio State this season. In a blowout against Nebraska, Teague had 23 points. This weekend the Buckeyes play against Rutgers, who is fighting with Northwestern to be the worst team in the Big 10. The Scarlet Knights have allowed 198.7 rushing yards per game and 24 rushing touchdowns on the season. I expect Teague to be playing a lot this weekend.

Asim Rose, Kentucky, Running Back

Owned in 25 % of leagues

Asim Rose has had a tumultuous season so far, seemingly dipping between double digit games, then single digit and so on. However, last weekend against Tennessee, Rose scored a touchdown, giving him some confidence coming into this weekend against Vanderbilt. The Commodores have given up 196.7 rushing yards per game this season as well as 18 rushing touchdowns. I expect Rose to have a big rushing day against one of the worst defenses in the country.
