As OSU was itching to end its season on a positive note, a risk was worth taking.
With just less than 13 minutes left of play in the fourth quarter, the Cowboys made a decision on fourth-and-goal that helped them close the gap that the Badgers previously paved in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl.
OSU quarterback Garret Rangel avoided a sack and completed a 1-yard shovel pass up the middle to running back Ollie Gordon for a touchdown.
This touchdown led to an instant growth of momentum on both sides of the ball for the Cowboys. However, it was not enough for them to add a victory to the bowl game tallies.
OSU continued to trail the Badgers and finished the season with a 24-17 loss.
