The Doll House will feature as many as 20 dancers a night on two stages and performers from Las Vegas and New York. The strip club will open Jan. 28.

A new adult-entertainment venue will open in Stillwater on Jan. 28.

The Doll House, located east of Stillwater on Highway 51 in the former Freddie’s Steakhouse building, will showcase dancers on two stages and feature performers from Las Vegas and New York.

Ernie Bales, who owns the building, has purchased 14 clubs, bars and restaurants in Oklahoma in recent years and turned them into profitable business ventures. In addition to adult entertainment, Bales’ owns bars and clubs that cater to a variety of audiences and feature musical acts ranging from country to rock.

Bales said he decided to open a new club in Stillwater after visiting the city’s only other adult entertainment venue, the Dragon’s Lair, and said the Doll House will be “classier.”

The club will cater to patrons 18 years of age and older and will serve beer but not liquor.

“You’re going to see a lot more clubs coming into college towns because of the liquor laws,” Bales said. “Liquor laws have changed, and they’re killing the clubs. They’re wiping them out left and right. You can’t make any money on liquor any more.”

And that applies to more than just adult entertainment, Bales said.

Bales emphasized that the Doll House will offer a safe environment for its patrons and dancers through their own security staff and working with law enforcement.

Terry Major, whose residence shares a property line with the Doll House’s parking lot, said he’s not too concerned about his new neighbors at this point, despite problems with previous tenants.

“My only issues are noise and privacy, and they seem willing to work on that,” Major said.

Additionally, the club’s crosstown rivals at the Dragon’s Lair welcome the Doll House.

“Welcome to Stillwater,” said David Anderson, who has worked at the Dragon’s Lair for nine months.

“We welcome the opportunity for some competition,” he said. “It will put everybody on their A-game.”

Anderson also invites the Doll House dancers to participate in the Dragon Lair’s upcoming “Stillwater’s Sexiest Girl” contest. Registration for the contest ends Jan. 29.

The Doll House will have 15 to 20 dancers nightly, and Monday nights will be amateur night.

The club will charge $7 for male patrons 18-21 and $5 for males 21 and older. There is no cover charge for women.

The Dollhouse is a front for prostitution and drug sales. The girls that dance there are gypsies and thieves. The lowest of the low. If you like low class, overweight women with tattoos this is the place for you. This place is a house of cards which will soon collapse. Enjoy it while you can.

This story is still getting comments? Man. Let's face it, I even wouldn't touch any of the white girls that work at either places... so you know they must be bad.

I thought city and county laws were the same, maybe i am wrong , but when I visited the Doll House I noticed the bartender serving the under age dancers beer all night long as well as many of the under age customers were drinking also. I would think that would be an awful big liabilaty to put on your shoulders knowing that they have to drive home an being under age and drunk. And what about not putting the breast right in your face, they dont care about that either , a guy can almost get his eyes poked out, me personally the view and flirt is the turn on , i don't really care to have another guys slobber rubbed all over me . It is nice and new on the inside and looks good , but all the dancers are from the dragons lair and sadies no big deal.

My own personnel opinion, for now the Dollhouse is a little better than the Dragon's Lair. Yeah it's the same ladies, so what. Dragon's Lair needs to lay off being so strict on the ladies that dance. The lair does need to update several things. Also wouldn't hurt to get rid of a few people either. These are just a few thoughts to throw out there. My full fledged opinions I will keep to myself. I like the Dragon's Lair don't get me wrong, but it's in dire need of some major help right now that customers and dancers alone cannot fix.

Chris got it right. They are the same girls from the Lair and Sadies. You will never see anyone girls from Vegas or NY in Stillwater, USA unless its the ugly ones that got fired.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of strip clubs... but I have been to them before. The Dragon's Lair isn't that bad for a town like Stillwater. I have yet to go to The Doll House, but I'm sure it wont be too shabby either. All-in-all, it's a matter of personally preference when it comes to choosing which strip club to attend. With that being said, here are some comments directed at some of the posts prior to mine:
To everyone as a whole - Don't post comments on anything ever again unless you're going to fix your typos. It makes yourselves look ignorant.
Freddie Paul's - Thank God you're still open.
Your name - I don't support strip clubs, but I definitely don't shun them. If you think the men are objectifying the women that are dancing... what do you think about the women themselves? Honestly, if a girl is willing to get on stage in front of a group of guys and take her clothes of and dance for them... why shouldn't she be objectified?... because she's already objectified herself.
Anonymous - Don't get all hostile whenever a college newspaper covers a story over the second strip club ever to open up in Stillwater. You obviously can't handle the competition. Loyalty and pride are good qualities to have.... but for a strip club you work for? That's trashy... and so is swearing within the first three words of your comment for a newspaper article online.

I have just visited the dollhouse and it is not all what everyone has been saying about it. The girls there are the same girls from the Dragons Lair that were fired were different reasons. The other girls there are from Sadies in Ponca City. Anyone that has been to Sadies knows what kind of girls work there. The girls that are at the Lair at least will come by and say to you and chat. The girls at the dollhouse are snobby and rude and wont chat with you. Your going to find the bad with the good now matter which gentlmans club you go to but I like the laid back atmosphere at the Lair the best. Its had its share of the good with the bad but if you have been going there over the years as I have you can see the changes in the type of people that work there now.

Surely "girls," sexy or otherwise, are under 18 and not legal to be dancers? I hope there's some sort of investigation; it's bad enough having a strip club, let alone a strip club for pedophiles.

Clarification for those who believe FreddiePaul's Steakhouse is closing!! This new establishment is NOT in the FreddiePaul's Steakhouse building!!!! It is in the OLD Freddie's Steakhouse Building...a business that is not associated with FreddiePaul's Steakhouse or the owners..which closed to the public almost 10 years ago. The Freddie's Steakhouse sign has remained up over the years but the actual business has been closed. FREDDIEPAUL'S STEAKHOUSE, located at 1707 E. 6th-1mile east of Perkins Road on 6th, is still in business and going strong. FreddiePaul's Steakhouse has successfully served the community of Stillwater and surrounding communites since 2001 and we look forward to many more years of success.
Thanks to those who have so kindly called for clarification. We appreciate our customers and love Stillwater!
