After every Cowboy walked off the field with their heads hung low, one player remained.
Zac Robinson stayed on the field to congratulate Texas coach Mack Brown and tell him how great his defense was.
After one of Robinson’s best performances last week against Baylor, the senior quarterback had possibly the worst game of his career in the Cowboys’ 41-14 loss to Texas.
Robinson was 15-for-28 for 143 yards with one touchdown and four interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns.
Robinson’s 143 yards passing was nearly matched with his 139 yards in interception return yards.
Robinson entered the game with only three interceptions on the year.
“It was a weird, tough night,” Robinson said. “You have to give them a lot of credit, they are a really good defense and probably by far the best defense I have faced in my career here.”
Robinson said the struggles early against Texas (8-0, 5-0) put the Cowboys (6-2, 3-1) in a hole.
“It seemed like nothing was really clicking and we were down there and things just kind of went down hill,” Robinson said.
Besides the four interceptions from Robinson, OSU also had a fumble from sophomore wide receiver Hubert Anyiam. Texas took advantage of the five Cowboy turnovers to put 27 points on the board.
Senior linebacker Andre Sexton said even with the turnovers, the defense should have helped the offense out.
“Our offense turned the ball over a couple times,” Sexton said. “But the defense is there to stop the opposing offense. We should have held them to field goals or gotten off the field somehow.”
Robinson said the turnovers were a result of the Cowboys getting down early and trying to catch up.
“Honestly I felt great in the first half,” Robinson said. “You do start pressing a little bit when you get down like that and start throwing down the field.
“It’s my fault, I just tried to throw it down field for a guy to make a play.”
Coach Mike Gundy said the Robinson against Texas is not the one OSU fans are used to.
“It just didn’t work out very well for him tonight,” Gundy said. “He made a few mistakes. The important thing is he keeps his head high and keeps playing. He’s a good quarterback and a good player. He just had a tough night.”
On the Tuesday before the game, OSU received the news about junior receiver Dez Bryant’s one year suspension.
Gundy said he thought his players were shocked by the ruling, but Robinson said they were prepared to play without him and it did not distract him from preparing for Texas.
“We tried to forget about it,” Robinson said. “It’s tough because a lot of us felt like he was going to come back and help us out and hearing that was tough. But we just have to go with what we got.”
Sexton said the day could have been special for every Cowboy instead, the team will have to refocus.
“It could have been a bright spot, but it turned out to be a sour spot,” Sexton said.
“Everything we want to do is still in front of us, we just have to control our own destiny.”

Zac Robinson stayed on the field to congratulate Texas coach Mack Brown and tell him how great his defense was."If you've given it 100% and done your best, there is no reason to "hang your head" after a loss. Sometimes, character is defined in defeat. It's good to see that Zac made no excuses. He is a young man, with character.
they do need to try to get out there and win even if they did loose there best players. that is still not an exsuce.
