The Gorillaz’s album “Plastic Beach“ was released Tuesday.

If you have ever wondered what every genre would sound like put together in one album, I present "Plastic Beach" by Gorillaz.

Being labeled in the Guinness World Records as the Most Successful Virtual Band, the Gorillaz are always looking to push the bar in innovation. Combining Snoop with an orchestra and a brass ensemble for an opener is a feat in itself that makes you wonder what's next.

What about mixing the Lebanese National Orchestra for Oriental Arabic Music with the Gorillaz's unique beats with even more rap artists? If you just said "What the hell?," then you are in for a surprising treat. Even though I'm not a big fan of listening to Gorillaz's albums all the way through, each song is truly a work of art.

Of course my favorite songs on the album are relative to who is featured on them. Mos Def and De La Soul are on a couple of tracks. Lou Reed, best known for being a member of The Velvet Underground, sings on the track "Some Kind of Nature," which is about how we are all just dust in the wind.

The whole album seems to look at society and its faults, and how fake people can be sometimes. It definitely takes on a worldly theme within the lyrics and music. My absolute favorite track is "Superfast Jellyfish," which comments on today's fast-food culture: "Just enjoy the gritty crunch, it tastes just like chicken."
Artists seem to be releasing music just to appeal to the masses, instead of creating true art.

At least there is still one band that keeps it real — with virtual characters. If you have ever wondered what every genre would sound like put together in one album, I present "Plastic Beach" by Gorillaz.
