Golden State gave OKC plenty of trouble twice earlier this season.
Not tonight.
For the second time in three games, everyone active on the Thunder roster scored in a dominant 110-87 win against the Warriors on Friday.
OKC (23-7) shot 53 percent from the floor and recorded 24 assists compared to 19 turnovers. OKC won all three games against the Warriors this season.
Golden State (11-16) grabbed 22 offensive rebounds, but shot only 35 percent from the floor.
James Harden scored 15 points in the second quarter, finishing with 25 to lead the Thunder. Kevin Durant logged a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds.
Three thoughts on the game:
1. The Thunder must limit opponents' second chance points. Perkins was out with an injury, but the rest of the team has to realize there will be a hold in the defensive interior, and make rebounding a team effort. Even though much of Golden State's shooting comes from outside the paint, allowing 22 offensive rebounds to an undersized team is inexcusable.
2. Royal Ivey is adding to the Thunder depth. In the absence of Thabo Sefolosha, coach Scott Brooks rolled the dice in his rotation and gave more minutes to Royal Ivey. Ivey hasn't disappointed. He has played tenacious defense during the past two games, and tonight made three 3-pointers. Brooks can trust Ivey to play for short stretches when he needs to rest Cook or Sefolosha as the season goes on.
3. Taking the gifts at the charity stripe. OKC went 22-27 from the free throw line. The Thunder leads the NBA in free throw percentage at 79.3 percent. There are few things more important down the stretch than converting free throws, especially in the playoffs.
