The Oklahoma State softball team dropped the second game of the Tallahassee Super Regional, 4-1 and will head to a third and final game with a trip to the Women’s College World Series on the line.
After sitting down the final 18 batters in game one, senior pitcher Samantha Show was chosen to come out and pitch in the next contest.
Through two innings it looked as though the decision to give Show a second straight start was a good one. Both teams sat scoreless and did not put a runner on base.
Show's struggles then began in the third inning. She hit the first batter to and then proceeded to give up a single and walk to load the bases for Florida State (55-9) with one out.
Show walked the next batter to bring in the first run of the game. The next two batters brought in another three runs for the No. 4 Seminoles on a flyout to right field and two-RBI single to bring the score to 4-0.
The Cowgirls (43-15) got one run back in the bottom of the frame, scoring on a FSU throwing error.
The run, however, was the only one the Cowgirls' offense could muster as No. 13 OSU pitcher Logan Simunek and FSU pitcher Meghan King pitched four shutout innings each to end.
The third and final matchup of the series will be at 11 a.m. in Tallahassee, FL with the winner advancing.
