Kendra Suttles had 16 points and 6 rebounds in Oklahoma State's loss against Texas.

The Cowgirls are still searching for their missing shot on the road.

Oklahoma State lost its fifth Big 12 road game at Texas, 69-53. The Cowgirls trailed for most of the game and shot only 29.5 percent, continuing their shooting woes on the road.

"We took a lot of bad shots in the first half and some in the second," OSU coach Jim Littell said.

The Cowgirls failed to find their offensive stride. The Longhorns (14-10, 3-8) held freshman Liz Donohoe, who leads OSU in average scoring, to three points.

OSU also had 16 turnovers, twice as many as Texas.

"We've got people we count on, and when they struggle, we struggle," Littell said.

Playing in her first game since Jan. 24, center Kendra Suttles led the Cowgirls (13-8, 5-7) with 16 points. Littell said he was glad to see the sophomore back in the lineup.

"I thought (Suttles) played extremely well for us tonight in her first game back," Littell said. "She played at a good pace offensively."

Suttles tried to spark an OSU comeback as she made a 3-pointer with 5:18 remaining to get within nine points of the Longhorns, but the Cowgirls could not get any closer.

"We cut it to 12 and thought we had a little momentum toward the end of the second half, but then we let (Texas) get three consecutive offensive boards," Littell said. "Things spiraled downward after that."

Despite the outcome, Littell said he saw the game as a learning experience for his young team.

"We've got to go back and get to work," Littell said. "We've got a lot of games left. We're going to come and work and try to get better each time out."
