Cowboy wrestling handles Princeton, improves to 6-0

The Oklahoma State wrestling team improved to 6-0 Saturday with a 27-12 victory against Princeton.

The No. 3 Cowboys were led by a strong start from their first three wrestlers. No. 4 Nick Piccininni got things started at 125 pounds with a 9-4 decision against No. 10 Patrick Glory.

No. 4 Daton Fix followed at 133 with the first of four bonus-point wins for the Cowboys when he defeated Jonathan Gomez 22-7 for his 11th technical fall of the season.

Completing the fast start was No. 12 Kaid Brock, who defeated Marshall Keller 16-2. The Cowboys proceeded to lose their next three matches at 149, 157 and 165 by decision.

No. 5 Joe Smith, son of Cowboy coach John Smith, competed in his first dual of the season, securing an 11-8 decision against Travis Stefanik at 174.

No. 11 Jacobe Smith and No. 3 Derek White finished off the victory for the cowboys, scoring first period falls at 184 and 285 respectively.
