What has been your best memory at Oklahoma State?

My best memory was winning nationals in the 1,500 my freshman year. It wasn't expected. I went out there just to compete, I wasn't thinking I was going to win. Maybe top three, so I was very happy about that.

What has been a harder moment here?

The worst race I had was last year at nationals. Nothing went my way. Everything was a struggle for me. Every day I went to run nothing was smooth. I was probably running eight minutes a mile.

What's an embarrassing moment?

One day I was just having fun with my friends and one of my friends pantsed me.  That was kind of embarrassing because everything was down.

What are your expectations of the season?

The number one key here is to win a national championship. The world that we live in there are no guarantees. The first thing we got to worry about is Big 12 and they're going to be here in Stillwater, so I'm really excited for that.

You are a leader of this team. How do you like that role?

Me and Colby (Lowe) are pretty much the leaders on the team. The freshmen are mature for their age. We don't tell them to do much; we just want them to be here and be focused. Like I always say, we're here to win national championships.

Winning two national championships in a row is going to be tough. Do you think the team has what it takes to repeat?

Yes. Winning two is like building a legacy. Winning one will get you somewhere, but winning two would just be the frosting on the cake.
