College Fantasy Football Week 3: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em

Oklahoma State's Tylan Wallace scores the second touchdown of the Oklahoma State vs. McNeese State Football game on Saturday September 7, 2019 at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

It’s week 3 of college football and if you’re unsure of who to start, here is what you need to know.

Start ‘Em

RB: Lamical Perine, Florida vs. Kentucky

Through the past two games, Lamical Perine has been fantastic for fantasy owners. Against Miami (FL), he gained 15.7 points. Then against the University of Tennessee-Martin, he gained 14.1 points. If you haven’t picked him up yet, you should. He has been extremely consistent. Look for him to have a big game against Kentucky, who lost Josh Allen to the NFL.

QB: Josh Jackson, Maryland vs. Temple

If you haven’t noticed Maryland’s offensive prowess throughout these past few weeks, now is the time. Maryland put up 79 points against Howard, and 63 points against Syracuse. Josh Jackson has accounted for 25.8 fantasy points against Howard and 23.44 against Syracuse. Look for him to impress against Temple.

WR: Tylan Wallace, Oklahoma State vs. Tulsa

Tulsa’s pass defense comes into this matchup ranked 64th in the country. However, they have not met a wide receiver like Tylan Wallace this season. Wallace had 23.7 fantasy points against Oregon State and 38.50 against McNeese State. Wallace comes into the game as one of the top wide receivers in the country. Tulsa will have to pick their poison between stopping Tylan Wallace or Chuba Hubbard.

TE: Brycen Hopkins, Purdue vs. TCU

Brycen Hopkins has had an insane season so far. He already has three touchdowns on the year: one against Nevada and two against Vanderbilt. He has racked up owners a total of 35 fantasy points this year, making him one of the best tight ends in college fantasy football.

Sit ‘Em

RB: Ricky Slade, Penn State vs. Pittsburgh

Running back Ricky Slade has been extremely disappointing  for fantasy owners. Slade has only gotten fantasy owners 8.8 fantasy points this season. He has had a nightmare start this year and until he proves otherwise, bench him.

QB: Jake Fromm, Georgia vs. Arkansas State

Jake Fromm is an excellent quarterback. However, because of the opponents he is playing, it would be best to bench him until next weekend. Georgia’s easy schedule early on means that Fromm won’t be a viable option until they play Notre Dame next week.

WR: Tamorrion Terry, Florida State vs. Virginia

Tamorrion Terry had a great game in Florida State’s week one loss to Boise State. Against the University of Louisiana-Monroe, he didn’t seem to be the same player as the week before. Against Boise State, he put up 17.9 fantasy points. In Week 2, he put up 8.7 fantasy points against a weaker defense. Florida State plays against a strong conference opponent this weekend. Bench him.

TE: Brevin Jordan, Miami (FL) vs. Bethune-Cookman

Jordan has been great this season for the Hurricanes. He's put up 27.6 fantasy points in two games. Unfortunately for fantasy owners, Miami plays Bethune-Cookman this weekend. This means that Jordan’s snaps will be limited to around four to five series. Look to pick up Miami’s backup tight ends Will Mallory or Michael Irvin II.
