Ah, summer television, a desolate wasteland of reruns and home and gardening shows. And if there is something good on, who has time to sit down and watch it? But in this wasteland are of few oases at least worth adding to your Hulu queue.

"Scoundrels" - "Scoundrels" comes across as if someone stole the plot of "Arrested Development" and made it somber. Starring Oscar nominee Virginia Madsen as the matriarch of a family forced to change its lifestyle after their father is sent to prison, "Scoundrels" provides good characters, beautiful settings and a few good laughs.
Sundays at 8 p.m. on ABC, also available at ABC.com

"True Blood"- Now in its third season, my biggest qualm with "True Blood" is that I can't watch it. I'm currently catching up on season 2 on DVD. But if the people at "True Blood" continue to provide over-the-top amounts of blood, sex and crazy characters, I can wait patiently.
Sundays at 8 p.m. on HBO, also available on HBO on Demand

"Good Guys" - "Good Guys" pulls from old buddy cop films to put together Bradley Whitford and Colin Hanks as a new comedic partnership on the force. I'm with the general population in saying that there are too many police serials on TV, but I'd follow these actors to the end of the Earth.
Mondays at 8 p.m. on Fox, also available at Fox.com

"Pretty Little Liars" - I haven't watched this one yet, but if my Twitter feed tells me anything, it's that "Pretty Little Liars" is the summer's "Gossip Girl." That's enough information to keep me away from it, but to each his own. Fans of the high life, high spending and high drama, will enjoy this one.
Tuesdays at 7 p.m. on ABC Family, also available at abcfamily.com

"Vanguard" - Ask me what I'm watching this summer and I'll immediately go on a tangent about "Vanguard." In it's fourth season, I just found "Vanguard" when Hulu recommended it to me. The show has four in house journalists that cover current world issues for this documentary show. Although sometimes disturbing, "Vanguard" provides an escape form the fluff we call reality TV.
Wednesday at 9 p.m. on Current TV, also available on Hulu.com

"Mad Men" - About to start it's fourth season, "Mad Men" is the biggest hit AMC has, or probably, will ever see. Stylish, suave, sultry; this show is loved for its distinct style. If you haven't seen it yet, AMC will be airing marathons of the first three seasons in the beginning of July.
Premieres July 25 on AMC.
