The Oklahoma A&M Board of Regents gave OSU President Burns Hargis the authority to approve coach Mike Gundy's expected $30 million contract on Friday.

The university is not expected to release the details of the contract until Gundy and university officials sign it.

The board also approved women's basketball coach Jim Littell's title change and salary increase, following the death of former head coach Kurt Budke.

Littell's salary was increase from $202,399 to $299,999, according to documents released at the meeting.

Coaches were not the only ones to have salary increases approved on Friday.

The board approved a $50,000 salary increase for Provost Robert Sternberg, raising it to $372,308 a year.

The increase comes as a result of Sternberg's appointment to the George Kaiser Family Foundation Chair in Ethical Leadership.

Gary Shutt, OSU Director of Communications, said the money will not come from state allocated funds.

"The increase comes from the donor's gift to university for the endowed position," Shutt said.
