Cowboys and Tigers alike lined Main Street from 12th Street to Hall of Fame Avenue on Saturday in anticipation of a Sea of Orange.
The spectators, standing or sitting five deep along the sidewalks and store fronts, seemingly fulfilled this year's theme, creating an atmosphere full of school spirit and OSU pride.
The parade started strong, honoring three of OSU's famous alumni — musician Garth Brooks, football running back Barry Sanders and third baseman Robin Ventura with the titles of Grand Marshal.
The spectacle was highlighted with many intricate floats from residence halls and Greek houses along with numerous marching bands and cheer squads from all over the state. Local businesses and countless organizations from the Stillwater area, such as United Way, ECO-OSU and Boy Scouts of America, were also in the parade.
Numerous politicians were also honored in the parade, including Congressman Frank Lucas, R—Okla. The parade also featured such acts as a dancing group with lawnmowers and bicyclists riding three-wheeled "fun cycles" from Cooper's Bicycle Center.
Grady Lambert, an American film freshman, said, he always enjoys "the Okie Dokies" in the parade.
"They just move so fast in their little go-carts and pull off some impressive maneuvers along the road. It definitely makes things a little faster paced and makes everyone sitting along the road watch their toes," he said.
