The new vice president-elect Derek Barchenger and president-elect Kelly Offutt were certified the winners of the SGA election during Wednesday’s SGA meeting.

At the Student Government Association meeting Wednesday, the group's Supreme Court certified the election results for its president and vice president. Kelly Offutt and Derek Barchenger were officially named president- and vice president-elect.

Applications for executive positions will be available Friday in the turnstile outside of the SGA office, room 040 of the Student Union.

"Derek and I are both really excited," Offutt said. "We plan on pursuing our platform and trying to get those things accomplished as soon as possible."

A number of bills were also passed during the meeting.

A resolution to thank vice-mayor Tom Dugger for his service to SGA and the city of Stillwater was passed by unanimous consent. Dugger represented Stillwater as a liaison for the Student Commission Alliance Committee.

Bills granting registered status to Public Health Organization of OSU and the College of Agriculture Sciences and Natural Resources' Student Board of Directors were passed by unanimous consent. These groups now have all the rights and privileges that registered student organizations are granted.

A bill giving funds to Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers was passed by unanimous consent.

It gave $250 to the group to have comedian Don McMillan as a speaker for its spring banquet April 13 at Stillwater Plaza.
