Andrew Steadley

Oklahoma State University senior Andrew Steadley was found dead in his home Friday evening, according to the Stillwater Police Department.

Captain Kyle Gibbs, SPD public information officer, said police are investigating Steadley's death as an unattended death. The exact cause remains unclear, Gibbs said.

He was found in his home on the 100 block of South Knoblock Street.

Steadley, 22, was an agribusiness major from Bixby. He was heavily involved in the OSU Student Government Association during his college career.

He served as an SGA senator representing the Off-Campus Student Association and last year was the chairman of the committee on student organizations. Steadley unsuccessfully ran for SGA president last spring.

The university released a statement following Steadley's death.

"Oklahoma State University is saddened to learn of the death of one of its students," the statement said. "President Hargis and the university would like to extend its deepest sympathies to Andrew Steadley's family and friends during this time. University Counseling Services is available to any student that may need assistance during this time of grief."
