Nate Fleming, born Sept. 11, 1980, in Oklahoma City Fleming was a freshman guard for Oklahoma State University. One of the team’s few walk-ons, he played in four games in 2000. At a practice in December, Fleming broke his nose and returned for the first time to play against Texas A&M on Wednesday. Each time he played, he was greeted by chants from the audience: “Nate! Nate! Nate!”
Fleming played ball at Edmond North High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society and valedictorian of his senior class. Fleming also was a talented tennis player.
Fleming is survived by his parents, Zane and Ann, and two sisters, Drue and Sarah.
