Kendall Durfey
Kendall was Coordinator of Technical Services for OSU’s Educational Television Services. He began at ETS in 1989 as a part-time audio engineer, before becoming a television engineer, then moving in the position of supervising master control. He was an adjunct lecturer for the School of Journalism and Broadcasting from 1990-1992, teaching labs in television production and television directing. For the past several years, he was the producer/engineer for the Cowboy Sports Network, working basketball and
football games as well as the call-in radio shows.
For approximately 10 years. Kendall worked for Winner Communications as a freelance audio engineer for ESPN’s horseracing series which covers major thoroughbred events leading up to the Triple Crown and Breeder’s Cup, including the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont.
His history in the business goes back a long way, from working at the campus radio station at Oral Roberts to his family’s radio station in Wagoner, Okla., to KSPI in Stillwater, Okla. Kendall partnered with his brother in dB Productions, an audio and video production company as well as disc jockeyed events while going to school.
He obtained his bachelor’s in telecommunications (Radio/Television) from Oral Roberts University in 1984, and his master’s in mass communications for OSU in 1992.
He is survived by his wife Patricia and daughter Ashlee.
