Bill Teegins, 48, raised in Tulsa
Known as the voice of OSU sports, Teegins announced play-by-play for OSU football and men’s basketball. He also was sports director at KWTV in Oklahoma city. This was Teegins’ 11th season with the Cowboys and 13th year with KWTV. Teegins’ voice was instantly recognizable for his enthusiastic call, “HE GOT IT!” when an OSU player made a basket. In an interview last summer, Teegins said his favorite hangout was Gallagher-Iba Arena and that the best time he ever has was going to the Final Four with the Cowboys in 1995.
Althought he was born in Minnesota, Teegins spent most of his life in Oklahoma, graduating from Tulsa Hale High School in 1970 and attended the University of Tulsa. Teegins is survived by his wife, Janis, and his daughter, Amanda.
