A non-profit organization wants to play dodgeball, and dodging wrenches or traffic is not required.

K-Life, a Stillwater Christian youth group, will host its third-annual dodgeball tournament Friday and Saturday at the Sunnybrook Christian Church gym at 421 E. Richmond Road. There are divisions for all ages to duck, dip, dive and dodge. Each team of eight people must have at least two boys and two girls.

Area Director Walter Kearns said there is a mission behind the tournaments.

"It's to simply have a platform to tell people about Jesus," Kearns said. "Our slogan is we want to impact the youth culture for Christ."

MVP awards, golden dodgeballs and performance awards will be handed out during the tournament.

K-Life also uses the dodgeball tournament to raise money for its ministry.

"The money will go to things like facilities, putting on future events and salary for our staff," Kearns said.

The collegiate tournament is tonight, with registration at 6:30 and games beginning at 7:30. Others are Saturday starting at 9 a.m.

The cost to enter a team in the tournament is $15 per player. Teams may register at the event or online at stillwater.klife.com.
