Da Vinci’s Italian Restaurant has lunch specials priced between $5.95 and $7.50 Tuesday through Saturday.

Da Vinci's Italian Restaurant, 2280 N. Perkins Road, brings the taste of Italy to Stillwater.

Owners Reno Dobroshi and Avnor Dalipi opened the restaurant, named after Leonardo da Vinci, in June.

The menu is filled with dishes made from authentic Italian family recipes. Everything from pasta to sauces is made daily from scratch.

The menu not only features calzones and baked ziti, but also offers unique dishes, such as the Da Vinci Special which is spaghetti topped with chicken, sausage, ham and vegetables with a white wine cream and marinara sauce.

The tortellini modo mio with chicken is portioned and priced just right at less than $10. It is a colorful dish made with tender pasta and juicy chicken, and every meal is served with scrumptious homemade Italian rolls.

Beer is the only alcoholic drink option, but wine will be added in about three weeks, the owners said.

Dobroshi and Dalipi work and cook every day the restaurant is open to make sure the food is just right.

The quaint maroon and green eatery is decorated with framed artwork and old-fashioned wall fixtures.

To keep the Italian vibe going, the restaurant plays the music of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.

The reasonably-priced food makes Da Vinci's great for date night.

Judy Quisenberry eats at Da Vinci's often.

She ate the damabianka, which is spaghetti with sautéed mushrooms and chicken or veal mixed with a brandy cream sauce.

"The food was delicious and the rolls were good too," Quisenberry said.

For dessert, Da Vinci's offers tiramisu, cannoli and five types of cheesecake.

Carryout and catering are also available.

In my opinion, it is definitely a delightful alternative to the only other local Italian restaurant, Joseppi's.
