Eleven players on the OSU baseball team rejected major league draft offers to continue playing with the Cowboys this season.

The only other team with more offers in the Big 12 was Texas with 13.

The 11 major league rejecters and their fellow Cowboys will travel to Minneapolis this weekend to the Dairy Queen Classic for a three-game series.

Junior right-hander Brad Propst said he is happy with the Cowboys' performance so far and is looking forward to the team's future.

"I think we're really coming together," Propst said. "We're gellin'."
Coach Frank Anderson added with a smirk that it doesn't hurt with everyone getting along.

"I actually think they like each other a little bit," Anderson said. "And we kind of like them. That's not always the case, but in this instance it is."

The Cowboys will start out the series on Friday at 12:15 against Northwestern.

Their next contest will be against Minnesota at 6:35 p.m. on Saturday, and they will finish the weekend on Sunday against Loyola Marymount at 11 a.m.

Each game will be played at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, also simply known as "The Dome," the Minnesota Vikings home stadium.

Junior Nico Rosthenhausler was one of the players who turned down a draft opportunity.

Rosthenhausler was a 50th round draft pick by the Detroit Tigers. He is a transfer from South Mountain Community College in Phoenix, and is starting in left field for the Cowboys.

"Juco guys are usually more comfortable, so they usually end up playing more," senior center fielder Duty Harvard said. "He's a good player and he's really helped us out so far."

Rosthenhausler is leading the team in batting with a .500 average, .900 slugging percentage, .571 OBP and five RBI's.

Harvard said he hopes the team can continue to see improvement in the upcoming weekend.

"Hopefully we can come together as a team, keep building up and make a run at it," Harvard said.
