As injuries pile up and bye weeks arrive, here are some players to help you through your weekend.
Tyler Huntley, Utah Utes, Quarterback
Owned in 15 % of leagues
Tyler Huntley had a rough start to the season, getting fantasy owners 8.14 points against BYU. Since then he has fallen below 20 fantasy points in a game once, against USC. In his most recent game, Huntley had 36.46 fantasy points against Washington State. This week he plays Oregon State who are allowing 247.3 yards per game. I expect Huntley and the Utes to play well against the Beavers.
Sean Clifford, Penn State, Quarterback
Owned in 35 % of leagues
Sean Clifford has had one bad game this year. It came against Pittsburgh who have been surprisingly good this year. In the five games he has played he is averaging 27.14 points per game. Clifford had four touchdowns against Purdue. He faces arguably his toughest test of the season so far this weekend, when the Nittany Lions face off against Iowa. The Hawkeyes have allowed 11 touchdowns this season. I don’t think Clifford cracks under the pressure of the Hawkeyes defense, because of his ability to be effective as a passer and runner.
Deon Jackson, Duke Blue Devils, RB
Owned in 44 % of leagues
Deon Jackson is another player that had a slow start to the season, against Alabama he had 5.20 fantasy points. Against North Carolina A&T he had seven fantasy points. Since then Jackson has averaged 20.70 fantasy points per game in three games. This weekend he faces a Georgia Tech team that is giving up 254.3 rushing yards per game. I expect Jackson to have a big game for fantasy owners this week.
Alex Fontenot, Colorado, Running Back
Owned in 16 % of leagues
Alex Fontenot started off the season great, he had 30.50 fantasy points against Colorado State. Unfortunately, after that game he had a significant drop off in production, grabbing 8.20 fantasy points against Nebraska and 4.50 fantasy points against Air Force. Since then Fontenot grabbed 18.60 fantasy points against Arizona State, and 15.30 against Arizona. This weekend he faces Oregon, who is allowing 102.8 rushing yards per game. I still expect Fontenot to grab you some fantasy points, I would put him at the flex position this weekend.
Scotty Washington, Wake Forest, Wide Receiver
Owned in 48 % of leagues
Scotty Washington has been amazing for fantasy owners. He is averaging 19.30 fantasy points per game. While he didn’t play particularly well against North Carolina, he has been exceptional in his past two games. Against Elon, Washington had 30.60 fantasy points, and against Boston College he had 17.90 fantasy points. Washington has six touchdowns in five games this year. I would definitely grab him if he is available.
Chatarius Atwell, Louisville Cardinals, WR
Owned in 28 % of leagues
Chatarius Atwell is an exceptional talent. However, in his first game against Notre Dame he had 7.20 fantasy points. Since then he has averaged 19.22 points per game. Against the Florida State he had 15.40 fantasy points, and against Boston College he had 15 fantasy points. This weekend he plays against Wake Forest who is allowing 245.6 yards per game. Atwell enters the game with five touchdowns on the year, I expect him to pick up a few more this weekend.
